We are dedicated to providing thorough eye exams in the Ventura County area.  Dr. Ruth Marquez, O.D. has been practicing for the past 18 years in Oxnard, CA.  She pursued her Bachelor's Degree In Biological Science with an emphasis on Neurobiology, Physiology and Behavior at UC Davis.  She then went on to earn her Doctor of Optometry degree at Southern California College of Optometry.  After graduation she worked at a private ophthalmology practice next to a hospital setting.  There she learned how to triage and was the first line of care for many patients prior to seeing the ophthalmologist.  She is trained to perform comprehensive eye exams, contact lens fittings, pediatric eye exams, diabetic eye exams, DMV eye exams along with evaluating red eyes and performing foreign body removals.

Early in her career Dr. Marquez was active in the Tri County Optometric Assciation, with positions as a Vice President, President and Past President.  She also volunteered at St. Johns Hospital doing diabetic screenings.  She is also bilingual, in 

English and Spanish.
